Healthy Costa Rican White Rice

This Healthy Costa Rican White Rice is a daily staple made simple with the Instant Pot. By cooking your rice at home, you control the ingredients and avoid the additives found in processed foods, making this a clean and affordable base for any meal.

In Costa Rica, white rice is the heart of the table. Using an electric pressure cooker ensures fluffy, perfectly cooked grains every time with almost no effort. It is the ultimate budget-friendly side dish that pairs perfectly with beans, proteins, or fresh vegetables.

Simple, nutritious, and cheap—this is how we "cut the crap" and eat well!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Rice
  • 4 cup Water

Prep

  1. Measure 2 cups of rice. Rinse the rice to remove the debris and then add to the pressure cooker.
  2. Add 4 cups of water to the pressure cooker.

Cook

  1. Secure the lid to the pressure cooker and start on the “Rice” setting.

    *Note: If you prefer firm rice shorten the cook time by approximately four minutes.

  2. When the timer goes off release the pressure.
  3. Once the pressure is released remove lid and serve.
